As Petworth Fringe has passed onto new management the honour and privilege of hosting the Petworth Heat of the British Comedian of the Year, the FA Cup of comedy, has fallen to the Petworth Chorus; this national competition, entered by 200+ comedians, was born in Petworth; our teenager has grown up, left home and is enjoying a giant final at Soho’s Comedy Store.

The format is very straightforward:
- eight great comedians
- a mix of small fry and BIG names, emerging hopefuls and established veterans

The running order is drawn from a hat and then each comedian gets a, timed, 10 minutes in which to entertain and, more importantly, make you laugh.

At the end, you vote for the winners to go through to the semi-final and a chance to win the UK's largest prize for stand-up: £10,001.

A bit like The Squid Games but not quite as violent a demise for the losers.
